Welcome to the SYP Offshore Sailing Section Website
The section is open to all serving and retired South Yorkshire Police officers, Staff, and their guests.
We aim to provide an opportunity for members to take part in the sport of Yacht Cruising, frequently thought of as an elite sport, in safe and affordable way. Each year we run between three and five trips, frequently at less than half the cost of a commercial trip. In the past we have cruised 5 yachts in company giving up to 32 members the opportunity to cruise the Solent and beyond.
UK charters normally cost around £200 - £250 per person for a 5 day cruise, including charter fee, food, fuel, mooring fees etc. A 7 day trip typically costs around £400. Sailing areas include the Solent to Dorset, Suffolk, Essex, Scotland and Devon and Cornwall. We have cruised cross channel to North France and the Channel Isles and have also organised trips to Greece, Majorca and Croatia.
